What happens when it’s a Full Moon?
We have all heard of the full moon and it turning everyone crazy for the night but what does this really mean? Well every full moon is different. Full moons occur approximately once per month when the moon is opposite the sun. The moon reflects the light of sun which is why it is so bright. Full moons influence our behaviour. Those that are sensitive can feel the intense energy at this time. Emotions and feelings can often be all over the place, your intuition may be heightened and dreams are amplified (thats if you are lucky enough to be able to sleep). The moon also affects the tides of the ocean and even how our fruit and vegetables grow. Be sure the bathe in the moonlight, full moons are a powerful time to meditate and release all that does not serve you. They can often reveal what we need to let go of. What bad habits do you want to say goodbye to? Now is the time. If you have a crystal collection this is also a great time to charge and cleanse your crystals.
January 2018 Full Moon in Cancer
December 2017 was a powerful month with Saturn moving into Capricorn, the Galactic Centre Alignment and Mercury going direct. January is just as powerful with 2 full moons. On January 2nd 2018 we start the new year with a super moon; the third in a row since November. Also known as a wolf moon, this full moon follows a really powerful day. January 1st 2018 is an 11:11 gateway; what a way to start the new year! 2018 is an ’11’ universal year in numerology so this makes it extra powerful. The Moon is in watery Cancer(11.38) and the Sun in earthy Capricorn (11.38). And look at the positions of both the sun and moon, also at ’11’; AMAZING!
The moon is the leader of our emotions so being in watery cancer could mean some water works or maybe a few tantrums. Remember this with loved ones and be mindful in how you speak to people. It’s not just you that is effected by the energy and some of us will feel it more than others dependant on our birth chart. The moon is at home in cancer so you might feel like spending time with family or your partner. An amazing time for cuddles and being with those that make us feel safe. Use the energy of the grounded and practical sign of Capricorn in opposition to the moon to help you to identify your greatest desires you want to achieve in 2018.
On January 10th the New Moon in Capricorn officially welcomes the new year. At the end of January on the 31st there is a blue moon and lunar eclipse to look forward to. This moon is known as a blood moon as it can look red from the lunar eclipse.
